Instituted: 2 October 1955.
Awarded: To mothers who gave birth to, raised, and educated more than ten children when the youngest is at least one year old. Children who died or were killed during World War II on active duty or died in the performance of duties in the public interest are also included. In 1980, the requirement was downgraded to a minimum of eight children.
