Ireland: Scott Medal for Valour

Ribbon: Equal stripes of green, white and orange.

Instituted: 1924 as an annual Gold Medal. The Silver and Bronze Medals were first issued in 1925.

Awarded: To members of the Garda Siochana (Police), originally to an officer who specially distinguished himself for valour in the performance of duty, since 1942 for most exceptional bravery and heroism involving the risk of life in the execution of duty.

Grades: 3 (Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals).
