Ribbon: Brick red with narrow dark green, white, and red edges.

Instituted: 21 November 1990.

Awarded: For for self-sacrifice in the cause of the Islamic Republic and for philanthropic services including founding charities and establishing scientific, research, and educational institutions in the community. Several amendments broadened the terms of award to include those who lost their lives in war or in the Islamic Revolution, and their parents.
