Kingdom of Norway: Order of St OlafDen kongelige Norske St Olavs ordenRibbon: Red with white edges bearing a narrow blue stripe. Instituted: 21 August 1847 by King Oscar I. Awarded: For distinguished services to Norway or to mankind. Apart from royalty and heads of state, it is normally only awarded to Norwegian citizens. Grades: 5 (Grand Cross, Commander with Star, Commander, Knight Class 1 and Knight Class 2). Holders of the Grand Cross may be awarded the Collar. Military awards are made 'with swords.'
