Instituted: 29 May 1772 by King Gustav III.
Awarded: To Swedes and foreigners for meritorious services in agriculture, mining, trade, crafts, industry, education and public service. It has not been conferred since 1974.
Grades: 5 (Commander Grand Cross, Commander 1st Class, Commander, Knight 1st Class and Knight), plus the Royal Badge of Vasa and the Royal Medal of Vasa.
