A silver number '1' is worn on the ribbon to denote possession of the clasp. NORTH AFRICA 1942-43 - awarded to Naval, RAF and merchant navy personnel serving between 23 October 1942 and 12 May 1943. A silver rosette is worn on the ribbon to denote possession of the clasp.
